The Underground is an urban podcast born out of a deep conviction to witness this generation repent. Matthew 4:17 says, “From that time on Jesus began to preach, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.’” We believe that to be reconciled with Jesus, repentance is necessary. But what is repentance? It is when the Holy Spirit convicts us of wrongdoing and we acknowledge His righteousness over our wrongs. Repentance springs from the kindness of God. Romans 2:4 states, “Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?” This verse reveals that our conviction does not originate from ourselves.

 

The ability to recognize our wrongs in any situation is a kindness from God extended to our generation—a call to repentance. That sense of remorse, the capacity to feel and to repent, is a gift from God that we must embrace. This gift compels us toward repentance. So who are we? We are simply a voice calling out to this generation: repent and be reconciled to God before it’s too late. For He will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night (Revelation 3:3).
